The thought also occurs to The Field that, on the heels of Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold’s statement that he voted for his colleague, Obama, Dodd’s endorsement pretty much means that all the leading civil libertarians in the Senate - Leahy, Kennedy, Kerry… - have now coalesced. That makes sense, since one of the clearest areas of difference between Obama and Clinton are in their instincts, approaches and records on matters of civil liberties. That doesn’t get a lot of play in the media, but folks that follow it have definitely noticed.
