a propos of absolutely nothing political,

just thinking about seasonal shopping. Here's a list of my favorite "WHY are they not available on DVD??" movies from the late sixties/early seventies that you just can't see anymore:
  • Far From the Madding Crowd - Julie Christie, Alan Bates, the English countryside, need I say more?
  • Diary of a Mad Housewife - Carrie Snodgrass, Frank Langella, Richard Benjamin
  • The Go-Between - Julie Christie, Alan Bates (are we sensing a theme here?)
Anyone else remember these? Please feel free to add your own.

Also "The Bedsitting Room" starring Peter Cook, Dudley Moore and the unfortunately named "Rita Tushingham".
Also
"The Chimes at Midnight" starring Keith Baxter, Orson Welles, Jeanne Moreau and Sir John Geilgud.

Thanks! One mystery is solved.

And I'm also a Rita Tushingham fan - her enormous eyes made a big impression on me in the 60's (my impressionable youth).
