Missed opportunity in the making

About the only thing I can think to point out concerning the death of Yasser Arafat is the sense I get that a new chance at peace in the middle east will yet again be missed by this administration who has no real interest in helping solve the problems there. I expect we will see the emergence of a new Palestinian Leadership that is almost desperate for our help, yet Bush will stubbornly point to acts of terrorism in Israel as an excuse for doing nothing. If there's one thing we ought to have learned in Iraq, it's that no matter who's in charge, terrorism is practically impossible to prevent on some level.

Also, couldn't Bush think of anything nice to say about the guy? You know, that whole hearts and minds thing.
