Happy Thanksgiving

I'm covered in flour (pie baking day) but wanted to take a moment to say how grateful I am for our readers. Posting is cathartic in itself, but so much better when you know people are reading what you've written. A special thanks to Laura, Mantisbot and Linnet.

It's been a very tough year and a miserable few weeks, and we all might have to reach a bit to come up with a list of thanks to offer at the table tomorrow. Here's my personal list:

• My wonderful husband and children. Any time we are all together there is cause for celebration.

• The other 55,557,583 americans, give or take whatever the recounts turn up, who voted for John Kerry.

• Gracious fellow citizens of planet earth who are willing to accept that half of us think and feel the same way they do about *.

I'll probably keep watching Olbermann, but otherwise plan to take a few days off from the news and election madness even though republican hypocrisy keeps prodding me to respond. I hope you will too.

[UPDATE]: The Center for American Progress has their own list up, and it's terrific.
