Gallup, does it have any credibility left?

So Bush's lead in the Gallup poll has narrowed from the unbelievable 13 points among likely voters to only 8, yet his lead has increased in the normally more Kerry friendly registered voters category. Wild swings, and diametrically opposed results among registered voters and those Gallup decides are likely voters have now come to characterize Gallup's polling late in the presidential cycle (remember 2000?).

But since the 13 point number among likely voters was bandied about so much a few weeks ago, we'll hold our friends in the media to the new likely voters spread of 8 points and so agree with this Reuters headline:
