By advertising in Louisiana and Colorado, the Kerry campaign was hoping to force BC04' to spend in two states where they had not previously budgeted ad money. Neither state is historically considered a "battleground" state, yet the Kerry campaign thinks they have a chance in both states...we'll see.
However, what is clear is that the Kerry camp is actually now dictating the pace of ad spending by forcing the Bush camp to launch retaliatory ads in both states. Kerry has raised an incredible amount of money in recent months and this is not something BC04' had planned for. The Bush-Cheney ad budget is already spent by half and Kerry is just beginning.
