Michael Whouley

In today's Washington Post, the following picture appears of Michael Whouley, the famed Democratic strategist who famously directed Kerry's come from behind win in Iowa and helped Gore prevail four years earlier over Bill Bradley. He forces candidates to keep their schedules clear on primary days in case he needs to send them on 11th hour get out the vote excursions, a practice that has been affectionately named "The Whouley Hold." He also held Gore back from issuing his concession speech on the night of the 2000 election after looking at Florida voting returns. In short the guy is a genius but has been rarely photographed and it was rumored there were no pictures of him anywhere on the internet. Well, now there is one, enjoy. We salute you Michael Whouley.
