John Kerry vs. Newt Gingrich

Climate change smackdown live on C-SPAN this morning at 10am.
Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) and Fmr. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich debate the government's role in confronting global climate change. The event is sponsored by New York Univ.'s John Brademas Center for the Study of Congress. This is part of the Center's series on the way Congress makes long-term policy decisions.
Should be a good one.

[UPDATE]: The debate is available online at C-SPAN. Just scroll down. It was refreshingly civil, but to my mind Kerry crushed Newt, who was reduced to "I agree with pretty much everything Kerry says, but let it be done voluntarily, not by the government." Lame. Pretty much the same tired republicanism, but I do give him points for civility and intelligence.

Meanwhile, over at the American Legion, Bush lectures the country on the consequences of September 11. How many more days?
