So Karl Rove is resigning

to spend more time with his family.

He's off the public payroll - that's certainly a good thing. But does anyone seriously think he's going away? I heard a rumor on NPR this morning that he'll be joining the Romney campaign. If so, I hope he hangs like a millstone around Romney's neck and sinks his hopes with finality. Even if not, he's probably just going underground.

Best case, the timing of this announcement means one of the current investigations is about to bear some glorious fruit, and we still can look forward to that long-awaited frogmarch.
