McCain

I don't know why he says what he says...but, I think if anyone but Jr. were suddenly made POTUS and had to deal with Iraq or face losing reelection, all this talk of more troops would disappear and we'd simply get out in whatever way made us look least stupid. I think the McCain/Lieberman "quick send more troops and we can wrap this all up in 6 months" idea is some wierd attempt to be proven right mixed in with a sort of snooty belief that they are mavericks and in McCain's case - a clumsy appeal to the 101st fight keyboardists - that fringe element of the right that still supports this war.
