NY Times: Fifty percent of independent voters, a closely watched segment of the electorate in such polarized times, said they intended to vote for the Democratic candidate, versus 23 who said they would vote for a Republican.
Among registered voters, 33 percent said they planned to support Republicans, and 52 percent said they would vote for Democrats.
Of course I'm being a bit tongue in cheek the title to this post. But these numbers are from a new Times poll and show just why the Republicans are so endangered heading into Tuesday's vote. It also should do something to calm the chicken littles that seem to pop out of the Democratic woodwork when the slightest little thing rocks the boat a week before a major election.
