If the medium is the message,

then what is our message to the media? Jamison Foser, who is fast becoming my favorite voice on this crucial subject:
The defining issue of our time is the media. Whatever issue you care most about, media coverage of that issue is likely a key stumbling block to real, progressive change.
Via Greg Sargent, this list compiled by Nan seems like a good place to start:
"And my question is.......what can ordinary citizens do about it?"

    * Stop financially supporting corporate media organs. Do not subscribe to publications like Time which publishes only anti-liberal columnists.

    * Support independent voices. Contribute to Media Matters. Subscribe to American Prospect, Harpers, NY Review of Books, etc.

    * Write, call to corporate media organs expressing your outrage. No, they won't change their coverage but at least they will know we exist.

    * Don't watch right tilting TV shows like Meet the Press or Hardball. You are helping their ratings and helping pay their salaries.

    * Urge Democrats to build their own media organs. Their own WSJ, FOX, Moonie Times.
