Things I love about Prague

1. Nightingales.

2. Sidewalk cafes. The city is full of tourists, mainly from Germany, Belgium, and Britain. This afternoon two Italian men sitting at the next table noticed the Kerry for President button on my bag, and struck up a lively conversation based on their observation that I must be a democrat. They both are apparently as embarrassed by Berlusconi as we are by Bush, and referred to the two of them as "two dangerous clowns." No argument there.

3. The Kafka culture. Franz Kafka is a cottage industry here.

4. The cuddly Golem. Another Prague cottage industry.

5. The Mucha window in the St. Vitus Cathedral

6. These gorgeous books, located in the Prague Castle.
