Not going to happen. Not in a million years. And why is it we must speculate about these two candidates every four years? Yes Hillary is running and she will be very forminable. But the idea that Hillary is "weak in the legs" and all she needs is Russ Feingold to knock her down a notch and open the way for Gore is the same strange logic that suggested a Dean take down of Kerry would pave the way for Hillary in 2004.
The truth is, Hillary has the Dem establishment locked up. The blogs might raise a few million for Feingold but anyone that thinks Hillary's war vote will matter to primary voters more than Kerry's did in 2004 is delusional. Obviously a lot will depend on what happens this fall and what the political mood of the country is come 2008. But I have a strange feeling 2008 will be much like 2004 - an establishment candidate threatened by an outsider (Kerry vs. Dean, Hillary vs. who knows?) with everyone predicting trouble for the establishment candidate only to have it all turn out the way everyone originally predicted it would. Whether Hillary goes on to become president, who can say?
