Off the wagon

We were doing good before, but now that pesky Feingold has screwed everything up. (Could Washington reporters tell us more often when we're doing good because I never know.) But now I know that Feingold must be wrong because Dana Milbank says so.

At a time when Democrats had Bush on the ropes over Iraq, the budget and port security, Feingold single-handedly turned the debate back to an issue where Bush has the advantage -- and drove another wedge through his party.

I do hope that Democrats squeamish about this thing realize that whatever miniscule one or two point advantage Bush might have on this issue disappears the minute you say "the President ILLEGALLY wiretapped Americans." Wiretapping is one thing. Illegal wiretapping - whole different ball game.
