Just imagine if we lived in America ruled by Democrats with a President Gore or Kerry at 34% approval and Hillary pulled the kind of stunt McCain did at the SRLC. Does anyone think Dan Balz would write this about her?:

No other candidate could claim to offer continuity and change almost simultaneously.

Even Drudge said "McCain in Straw Poll embarrassment." Leave it to Balz, Tweety, Todd, Russert and Co. to defend McCain until the end and to justify even blatant political moves on McCain's part as part of McCain's inherent, unquestioned "appeal."
