More Hackett

This from last October, but I think it's relevant. Now, I don't disagree that Brown may be our best chance to take down Mike DeWine in Ohio this fall, but the story of Kos's changing positions ought to remind people that bloggers like Kos and Armstrong have built their careers off attaching themselves to upstart politicians, whether as paid or un-paid advisors, and then pumping up those same politicians on their blogs. That's their choice and they're free to do it. It's really no different than what many other political activists do. But, they ought to realize that by doing this they are doing damage to their own credibility as insightful political commentators.

Did Kos ever really explain what was behind his sudden switch from being excited at the prospect of a Senator Hackett to proclaiming him not seasoned enough to take on DeWine - as if a lack of establishment support has ever kept a blogger from supporting the candidate they most identify with?

The fact is, what motivates a lot of the online giving are the views of people like Kos. I think he owes his readers a fuller explanation.
