Fields

Months ago it was assumed Ferrer's big gaffe at a police union presentation would benefit Fields. Clearly, it hasn't, as Fields has never been good at giving the impression to anyone that she was actually serious about running for mayor. The real question is whether Ferrer can muster the 40% to avoid a runoff. Fields is his only real competitor at this point. While she may or may not keep Ferrer below 40, it's hard to see how she manages to win the nomination.

Unfortunately...this all may be a lost cause, as Bloomberg continues to improve his image and has only just begun to deluge New Yorkers with millions of dollars in television ads.
