How low will cable news go?

About a year ago I realized I could spend all day watching cable news and learn about half as much on any given subject as I could by spending 10 minutes reading the next day's paper.

With events such as the London bombing the discrepancy grows, to the point where cable news simply repeats one or two basic facts over and over, interspersed with interviews of the victims and their families.

People like Bill O'Reilly and Joe Scarborough now spend a good portion of their shows simply opining in the most hypocritical and heinous ways.

Is cable news even relevant anymore?
