Bolton

Looks like we're headed for a recess appointment - pretty amazing considering there are 54 Republican Senators and only 45 Democrats plus 1 Independent. The Bolton battle is similar to the battle and subsequent delay of Holbrooke's confirmation as ambassador to the U.N. during Clinton's second term. But with the White House and Senate controlled by different parties, it was easier to understand the dispute over Holbrooke as being mostly about partisan politics and less about Holbrooke himself. Yet with Bolton, it's clear that the Senate just doesn't feel comfortable with him.

Hey, the way I see it, a recess appointment only helps our side in that it further alienates certain Republican members of the Senate who are increasingly showing their willingness to speak out against the administration, which in turn undercuts Dear Leader.
