Political casualty

It seems increasingly as if Blair will step down, allowing Gordon Brown to become Prime Minister. The British elections ought to be an important lesson for Bush. You can win but ultimately still lose. Of course, Bush will remain President for a full second term, but political opinion is already turning against him and he may likely leave office even less popular then he is now.

It's also worth pointing out, that if/when Blair steps down, the Iraq War will be seen as the main reason behind his leaving office - the first political casualty of a war gone bad.
