Senator Frist is so desperate to win over the hearts of social conservatives that he is set to declare Democrats' desire to uphold the filibuster rule as a war "against people of faith." He's taking part in a teleconference sponsored by the Family Research Council and yes, anti-Sponge Bob crusader James Dobson will take part as well.
How unseemly is it that a sitting member of Congress would attack fellow Senators this way? Democrats simply want to uphold a rule that has been part of Senate history for centuries.
These people control all threes branches of government, but that's not enough. The judiciary is already packed with conservative justices after 16 years of Reagan and Bush, but that's not enough. So, now they seek to equate the Democrats, many of whom are deeply religious and ought to be offended by this, as "non-believers" who want to wage a war against people of faith.
What century did these people come from?
