Rebounding from a stinging loss to Rendell in the 2002 Democratic primary for governor, Casey won his current post last November with a record vote total for a statewide candidate.

As far as whether or not the primary field should be cleared for Casey - that debate is already over among the power brokers in PA. If bloggers want to influence behind-the-scenes debates like this, they'll need to be a little quicker on the draw.
