ANWR: Open for business

This is example number two of Bush getting his way while Democrats are distracted by the Social Security fight. As important as that battle is, little attention has been given to the Bankruptcy Bill or the Republican effort to open ANWR for oil drilling.

I find our loss on this issue particularly distressing. There is simply no sense in ripping up the few remaining pieces of virgin arctic wilderness we have in this country so that Bush's friends in the oil industry can make a little extra spending money.
