President Magoo

Hosted by

Via Dan Froomkin's White House Briefing, Julie Mason, writing in the Houston Chronicle:

"I have always believed in the Mr. Magoo factor with Bush," said Marshall Wittmann, a senior fellow at the Democratic Leadership Council and former aide to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. "Everything seems to be falling down around him, but he always seems to get by and things work out."
If I remember correctly, while Mr. Magoo emerged from every near-catastrophe personally unscathed, he left a trail of ruin and mayhem everywhere he went. A frighteningly apt comparison.
