All politics is local

I've resisted writing too much about New York politics, but with Diane up on the Boston beat and me here in NYC, I figure I might as well start now. At the moment, it's pretty easy to sum up: Pataki is finished and Hillary and Chucky are here to stay - until 2008, when Hillary runs for President, that is. As far as city politics, I favor Freddy Ferrer over that despicable Gifford Miller, but I get a sense Bloomberg may win again. Freddy has a great message but Bloomberg is a moderate with tons of money to spend and he's rather smartly distanced himself from Bush - something Pataki's selfish yearning for national office prevents him from doing.
