Things we know:

1) The commentariat on the left is loudly proclaiming the "there is no crisis" message...blah...blah...blah
2) The White House/conservative activist groups (JMM would call them "astroturf groups")/Grover Norquist inspired "drown government in the bath water" reactionaries/corporate benefit providers - nexus is about to launch an unprecedented sales effort to persuade the country that social security is in "crisis"...blah...blah...blah
3) The press will continue to confuse, and misdirect readers as to what Bush's non-plan plan is supposed to be addressing...blah...blah...blah
4) Social Security "reform" is the corner-stone to Bush's second-term agenda...blah...blah...blah

Oh, and that giant sucking sound you hear? It's congressional Republicans sending the whole thing down the drain.
