**Tough Enough Exclusive**The Note replaces Dan Bartlett as WH Comm. Dir.

Who needs Bartlett when you have The Note:
While those two events have known outcomes (Gonzales will be confirmed, we betcha, with perhaps 15 Democratic votes or more, and full Republican support; the President's re-election — the Boxer Rebellion notwithstanding — will be secured), it is the battle over changing Social Security that remains the centerpiece of the politics of 2005...
You have to stand back and admire how The Note can side-step Iraq, the economy, the 43 million uninsured, and declare the central political issue to be that which the President wants most - social security privatization. I mean, imagine them setting out such a clear marker for a Democrat - focused, as it is, on an agenda item that the President wants passed. You can keep imagining, because it will never happen.

Hell, when you have this kind of message-backing you certainly won't ever be considered "themeless" as Democrats frequently are.
