Social Security Collapse=Iraqi WMDs

JMM points out that Bush is scaring people about social security much the same way he scared them about Iraqi WMD - as a way of building a case for a remedy to a problem that doesn't actually exist. This reminds me of Bush's remark in the second debate about how Democrats used "Medi-scare" to frighten seniors and convince them that Republicans would take away their health care. Well, how is that any worse that what Bush is doing scaring people into thinking social security is in danger of imminent collapse?

By the way, remember the media meme that said messing with social security was the "third rail" of politics? What happened to that and can we get it back, please?
