Vote Kerry or Burn in Hell

You've got to love this - very succinct - headline.

The endorsement isn't bad either. Editor Tim Whitaker of the Philadelphia Weekly writes,
Bush has been the most dispiriting president in memory.
He took us into an unnecessary and unfocused war. He and his neo-con evangelists lied about why we went there, and he personally lies to us every day about how it's going.

We used to stand for freedom and idealism and big dreams. Now we're perceived as thuggish, thickheaded and unseemly.
But he isn't just against Bush. This is what he says about John Kerry:
John Kerry is the easy choice for us.

He is, though, hardly perfect. He sees things in shades of gray. It takes us too long to know what he's thinking.

But he's no Karl Rove creation. He's no attack dog. He wouldn't assail an opponent's patriotism.

With Kerry, Iraq will get both strategic and diplomatic attention. He'll be straight about how it's going. He'll bring us home--faster.

He'll go after the real enemies with focus and inclusion.

We'll lose the arrogance. He won't think simplistically. He won't be afraid to admit mistakes.

Europe will remember the reasons we were once allies. The Third World will believe the dream. We won't be alone and afraid with all our possessions.

The White House won't be filled with ex-CEOs and sycophants and friends of the religious right.

Stem cell research will move forward.

    Assault weapons won't be legal.

Programs that do children good--like Head Start--will get a second life.

The Supreme Court will get thinkers.

We won't have a nasty junkyard dog as our vice president.

Cities like Philadelphia won't be forgotten.

With Kerry, we'll feel free to hope again.
