The second debate

We will be covering it live, of course.

A close look at DalyThoughts tells me that Kerry's performance in the first debate has done a lot of good, but that we need a strong performance from him tomorrow to nudge us ahead. My gut tells me we're about 1-2 points behind nationally and close to tied electorally, a "tipping point" as Craig Crawford said on Hardball tonight.

There's a strong sense out there that this thing just might "tip" for Kerry. To quote another election luminary, Bill O'Reilly, who said on tonight's Daily Show:
If Bush turns in another performance like he did at the first debate, he'll lose.
(very loose paraphrase, but who cares, it's Bill O'Reilly)
With Bush's all important commander-in-chief image being shredded by the Bremer-Kay-Duelfer-Edwards-Kerry tag team, it seems nothing but a strong performance tomorrow night will tip the scales to Bush.
