It's gratifying to see democrats start to genuinely appreciate what a fine candidate we have in John Kerry. He's long had the support of the democratic base, but since the exposure of the debates people have started to understand - and even love - the man.

If you want to know the depth of character of John Kerry, go see Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry. You will come away convinced that Kerry is the right man for these times. You too will be thankful that we have someone of such enormous skills, intelligence and strategic gifts combined with such human decency, someone who is not afraid to take up a fight, and someone who is on our side in this battle for the soul of our country.
For those of us who are long time supporters the entire past year has been gut-check time. We've had our judgement mocked and seen our candidate ridiculed, slimed, and insulted. As someone who does not see herself as particularly courageous I'll only say that I have taken my strength from Kerry himself. If he can rise above everything that has been thrown at him (from left and right) and still stick up for what he believes, how can I do less?
