Bob Barr smacks Bush

Ouch!
For the first time in my voting life, the choice in the race for president isn't so clear And, among true conservatives, I'm not alone.
Read the whole editorial. It's worth it.

What Barr has put his finger on is something the polls have obscured - the President garners strong support among Republicans but there is a danger for him that conservative unease with his policies, particularly his fiscal recklessness, may depress turnout among this group come election day. Perhaps that explains why Bush has to play to his base every chance he gets, repeatedly describing Kerry as the most liberal Senator in the Senate and saying meaningless machoisms like, "You can run but you can't hide" when referring to the Senator's record.

This also could be a sign of Bush's recent weakness in the polls. These sorts of complaints always seem to pop up from one's own party when their nominee is stumbling. With the election only 3 weeks off, here's to hoping we see more of this.
