Granted, there is some mixed news on the state by state numbers (small deficits in Ohio, Florida and Wisconsin), but we've locked down Michigan and Minnesota - where we lead by 9 points in a recent
Star-Tribune Minnesota Poll. I remain convinced that when we get some new polling out of Pennsylvania towards the end of the month it will show us up by around 3-5 points again. The fact is, despite last week being the high water mark for the Bush campaign so far, they can only poll dead even in PA - a state the President has visited more than any other. The
national polls already show, in dramatic fashion, how Bush's bounce no longer exists.
Add to all this today's comment from ABC's The Note:
Does John Kerry's decisive win in the most recent news cycle matter in the minds of an Ivan-flooded viewing public?
Ok, so they suggest he may not be getting through with all-Ivan all the time, but it's a start and is a marked shift from their down-on-Kerry tone last week.
Put another way, The Note generally serves as a pretty accurate leading edge for conventional wisdom among the political press. A few more "decisive" wins in the news cycle and believe me, Komeback Kerry will be all the rage.
So buck up Democrats, Kerry is coming back!!
