- Colorado (September: 10-13):
Bush 46% Kerry 45% Nader 3% Other 1% Don't Know 6%
Colorado was not previously considered a top-tier battleground state but that may change. A poll taken in mid-August by Rasmussen Reports showed the race a tie at 47-47.
Bush can ill afford to lose CO. Put another way, Kerry can win without OH, FL or WI if he manages to hold PA and NM and win WV and NH and CO. What this means is the Bush team has to add another red state to their list of contested states in the final weeks of the campaign and that can only mean less money for OH, FL and PA.
