Bush in 2000

To measure the character of the two men running for president, compare and contrast the following internet ad featuring film of John McCain and George Bush debating in 2000 with this item from today's LA Times:
Aides say Kerry will not back away from his protest years, even as the Swift boat group tries to use them against him...After initially hesitating, Kerry has launched a vigorous counterattack against the group's protests. He also offered his perspective on his protest years in comments last week.

"I can remember when we all came back from service in what we all know was a controversial period of time," Kerry told members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Cincinnati on Wednesday.

"I volunteered to go to Vietnam," he added. "I didn't make it controversial. The war and the times were. And as too many of us know, it was a time when the war and warriors became confused. I say to you, with my experience - never again in America should the warriors ever be confused with the war."
To which of these two men would you rather entrust the future of your children? Character matters.
