Rasmussen Reports nails it...

For those that aren't obsessive poll watchers, Rasmussen Reports does automated polling every night on Kerry vs. Bush. While this method has its flaws, since polling has been done every night for the last several months it offers a substantial amount of "trend" numbers. Essentially, Rasmussen has shown Kerry and Bush tied for months which probably obscures some of the shifts in public opinion that have taken place. However, that said, apparently the transfer of power in Iraq has yielded little bump in polling over the last two nights for Bush:
In polls conducted following the transfer of sovereignty to Iraq, President Bush's ratings for handling both Iraq and the economy declined from the previous week. In fact, the number of people saying the President is doing a poor job in Iraq has risen to its highest level of the year.

A related survey found little difference in the number of Americans who believe Iraq is likely to become a free and peaceful nation. It is reasonable to assume that American voters are looking for specific results from the transfer of authority rather than symbolic actions. A survey taken just before the transfer found that the number of Americans who believe the terrorists are winning has risen to its highest level of the year.
