- Starting early next week, Bush will run previously released ads in a buy of at least $9.5 million. Recently, the campaign had scaled back its buy to a $4 million, 11-day ad run on stations in battleground states and national cable networks.
The Bush-Cheney campaign has broken all records in raising more than $180 million.
If the president hadn't increased his ad spending, Kerry and Democratic-leaning interest groups would have significantly outspent Bush on the air next week. Now, Bush and the Democrats will be running about even.
