I am with Eric on Miller--

I have been so down all week about Kerry's lack of sharp, effective response to the Swift Boat flap that I had practically resigned myself to a close Bush victory.

But wait!

This Zell Miller thing is going to BACKFIRE BACKFIRE BACKFIRE like an old jalopy on the Repubs. Joe Klein is on CNN right now practically foaming at the mouth at how absolutely hateful Miller was. He says that Miller was more harsh than Pat Buchanan was in 1992. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement. Bush will be so-so tomorrow and the hurricane will come this weekend and wipe out a lot of stuff. I see Bush up by 5 points AT MOST by next Wednesday, and by October 1 (the day after debate #1) Kerry will overtake again within the margin of error.

The main point is that the Repubs are going to have to backpedal like crazy after the Miller-Cheney duet from tonight. Bush will rescue them tomorrow night, but it won't be enough.
