CBS confirms, no bounce...KE 49, BC 42

But there is this:
However, the poll indicates the convention's focus on Kerry's decorated service in Vietnam boosted the Democrats among veterans.

While President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney held a 47 percent to 41 percent lead among vets in mid-July, the tickets are now in a statistical tie: Kerry-Edwards with 48 percent, and Bush-Cheney with 47 percent.

The big questions we haven't heard asked in a while are: 1) Will the Republicans go overboard with 9/11 nostalgia or hit it just right? 2) Will large protests distract from the generally positive coverage of a political party's convention?

Washingtonpost/ABC News should have a poll this evening. It's polling is generally not bullish on Kerry, and has consistantly given Bush some of his higher job approval numbers. Also, last poll they did showed Kerry's internal numbers on a host of issues slumping.
