Republicans have been running their mouths about how they think Kerry ignored most of his Senate record. The media has claimed that by spending so little time on his Senate record during his speech last Thursday night, Kerry leaves himself open to such attacks.
The most common attack on Kerry's 20 years in the Senate is that he was somehow "weak on defense." Republicans were quick to ridicule the militaristic tone and the prevalence of generals and veterans on stage with Kerry last week, saying they have "a hundred generals in reserve." (Minus a former Air Force joint chief of staff who was also a "veteran for Bush" in 2000who today called Bush's foreign policy a "national disaster.")
But aren't all the generals and veterans - Kerry's "Band of Brothers" - the best way to refute the "weak on defense" charge? And if that's all the Republicans can come up with to attack Kerry's Senate record than we're in pretty good shape because it isn't going to stick - not with the success of the Boston Convention in painting the war hero picture for voters.
